Original pre war gasmask can ( tend to call it M35 gasmask can as only ) made betwen 1935-1937 when it was replaced with gasmask cans with new closing system.

Container is fine but I don't like the shoulder strap. Material appears to be the course weave used post war.

The strap is ok.. post war (Bundeswehr) ones are even thicker in weave....

Actually it looks a little like the strap I have lying here for you
