I don't really spend too much time in militaria shops as I like, but today I swung into a new shop that just opened up and was surprised to see a 1944 Kubelwagen on the showroom floor. Motor is a post war replacement and the front seats need to be replaced. Guy is asking 39k. What do you think?

I dont like the look of that one. It is missing many details which leads me to believe that it is a reproduction or at least a partial reproduction. SteveComment

1943 Kubel
This 1943 Kubelwagen is at a fairly new store in Milwaukie, Oregon called The War Front. It is a 1943 and is an older restoration...probably in the 1970's. It is indeed very clean and would be an easy one to update with the correct parts...mainly the dash and the front seat frames. Those parts are easily available as repros now. Kubels worse than this have sold for up to 50K. This one (running and driving right now) is only $39,000. The store has a cool WWII museum as well..lots of mannequins!Comment

This has no real relevance towards the discussion of authenticity, but this appears to be the same vehicle. That is, judging by the atypical placement of the non regulation axe and shovel.
