Soldier's personal care kit with Eagle

Strange personal comfort kit (care kit) with eagle embossed in the material.
Was used by a Dutch soldier in Netherlands Indies during the "politionele acties" (police actions) in the late 40's...
The eagle looks German but no Wreath and Swastika...but you can see the eagle's talons (claws) as if they're clutching something...
so German and modified for post war use?
I doubt that its an Indonesian National eagle (Garuda) as the wings are entirely different...

OK I found a clue on Ebay...
A very similar kit personal care kit-sewing kit...same maker, obviously not German...but no eagle...

Apparently it is am AMERICAN brand! Makes sense with the OD thread!

This never had a swastika, it doesn't seem to have been modified. Nothing to do with WWII Germany, in my opinion.
