    Post war gear

    Hi there!
As Im a pretty new fieldgear collector I would need some help with postwar fieldgear.
I know that there exists breadbags, messtins, shovels (Swiss?), belts, Y-straps and so on, but what I need to know is: How do I detect them out from the german ww2´s? The West german Y-straps are pretty simple as they have a clip in the middle of the short strap, the eastgerman breadbags are pretty simple to with the shape and leather on them, but the rest I really need help with.
And: If there is any other post war gear that can be good knowing about, please post here
    Any help is apriciated!

Btt, please, I understand if this thread might not be so fun to read or so, but its important so that I will learn to know what to watch out for in the future.

Lasse, the reason for the little succes is IMO because your question is way too general...it would be better to start one thread for one specific item.

I don't know if you know it, but breadbags and shovels have been discussed before.

      Cheers

That would be a much better idea...

Also, try to find pictures of the stuff you would like to know about....

For me, it is difficult just to describe what to look for, and, fortunately I don't own too much post war stuff......

So, concentrate on one piece, try to find as much info as you can, and then ask for details, what to look for, a.s.o.

          Hope this helps....

Lasse. I was in the same boat as you. (We all were) as he said, pick out something you like and post it. the Guys hear will tell you and why it is that way. this forum is great. just remember these words, "stay the course" and "good things come to those who wait". my collection is proof of both of those sayings. if you search the Reich web continuously or even post in the "wanted" section here on the forum you will get what your looking for. I am always searching many sites and I help out who ever I can in the wanted section. the stuff is out there, also remember this. dont plan to upgrade. you rarely get your money back that you invested in the piece, especially when you want to get rid of it quick. be willing to pay good money for a maker marked/ dated VGC piece. once you have it, youll always be happy with it! let me know what your looking for, I bet I can steer you in the right direction. Glenn
