Just got this very strange telephone. The case is all wood and the microphone is integrated into the speaker at the ear. The speaking cone is extensible and retractable. This phone came with its "Pertrix" battery intact. Phone is photographed without its leather straps which I'm restoring now.

I've got one very similar to that one, except the case is painted or stained black and the sling is made from linen webbing. Its pretty old, not positive, I think it might be dated 1909. There were still lots of them in service in WWI and I think they may have been made afterwards for the Post and Railroad, etc. I'd like to see a photo of the battery that came in it, if you don't mind.
