Gas Mask canisters

Two gas mask canisters i want to show. one is an avz40, with nice paint.
The other one is a barn found, with 7,92 ammo in it ( yes, it's a true story ), a bit salty , with feldpostnummer, but not readable. Marked EG42.

Pierre tell us more about the barn found one, like where was it found, have you got a picture of the ammo?

Hi Graeme,

This one was found in a barn near Calais ( North of France )two years ago. The canister was full of german 7,92mm. As you know, we aren't allowed to keep war ammo by the french laws. The "deminage" service kept them and destroyed ammo. For your information, it's not rare to find ammo in my region, near the "Atlantikwall". There's still a lot of grenades, shells and bullets (especialy 1914-1918 ) lost on battlefields near where i live. I'm a member of this association :http://perso.wanadoo.fr/asso.sltdlgg/. You can see what we can find and do for the memory of soldiers who felt in duty.
