    opinions on paint

hey Guys, Glenn here. wondering what your thoughts were on this paint job. it pretty much looks almost unused but then when you look at the handle wire it is almost devoid of all its paint. I guess that could happen but I'm not into this piece if it is a re-paint. maybe someone out there can shed some light on this. does the paint look like a shade that was period done? any comments would be greatly appreciated. thanks, Glenn

Saw this on eBay myself. It looks OK to me, you can see the red base coat.

ahhh! good eyes Jeff. unfortunatly I've shown my disability. I'm red/ green color blind! the army told me 1 out of 4 males is. so I didnt have a chance in seeing the red, it blended right into the green. I remember when I golfed too, I could never see those damn orange golf balls even when they were lying in front of my feet! but good deal. thanks for the comment. Glenn

Looks fine to me. You'll need another strap though.

for everyones information..like today it was a primer..you will find this exact same paint red on the inside of the metal butts for k98 rifles too...paint on bayonet scabbards is rare..black was the most common color used on bayonet scabbards and other colors are rare and desireable..dont ever take the paint off a bayonet scabbard! merry xmas!
