    A-frame; opinions please!!

    Hi Gents,
i have the opportunity to buy this a-frame from a friend of mine which has hold it in his collection for really over 15 years.
What do you think about it?
    Any your opinion is welcome.

I would have been very pleased to make that A-frame a part of my collection

You should grab it, it have several really nice details to.

                Thanks guys for your replies;

what make me nervous is the mark of a vertical stitching on the leather loops (post #4, 2nd shot) sewn on the top base of the trapezium. Mistake on the manufacture?

                Greetings,
                ALex

well guys.. I had a privilege of seeing those pictures before.. and I sent my opinion to Alex yesterday..
I will share with it now here..

                  1. this leather strap is a strap from the side of fury backpack (for blanket straps) - You can see double stiching holes - but only one is used and there is no mark on the back ofter second

                  3. webbing on those two elements (wide straps) is wrong IMHO !

4, we agree I guess that these straps are good.. they are either made up from oryginall webbing.. or they come from real Aframe...

                          also this picture:
                          http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...98&postcount=2

can You do it with your aframes guys ??? looks like you can stick finger in this hole.. I can bearly see stiffer in my frame - webbin in oryiginal frames is thick.. stiff.. and its sewn wery "hard" and close around the paper

also I dont like this thread - especially color of it...

You can ask Alex.. I was wery optymistic when I first spoted that frame.. but the more I looked at it the more concerns was poping up

I am not an expert.. but there is too many "things" that throw me away... IMHO its a good repro .. the whole frame doesnt "talk" to me... but thats just me...

                          cheers !!

                          compare stiches.. webbing:

one more thing.. when I was looking I noticed that those two top straps are sewn different way. ?!?! look - right on is missing this horizontal stiching...

                            something doesnt match here...

and dont tell me they didnt make fakes 15 years or so.. :

PS. WTF ?? I cant post link to another military forum !?!?!?!?!?!? why is that ???? thats wrong...I was posting a link to different forum with a old a-frame fake.. but link was just ******** ... cmon.. thats BS

Michael. DAMN, you got one Hell of an eye. I was looking thru those shots today and thought, "nice piece". but unfortunatly for the owner I have to agree with you. you know your S!*t. keep up the good work. I know... the truth sometimes hurts. I've lost a few (what I thought were) nice pieces after putting them up on this forum and GD.com but once the sting wears off and I relieve myself of them from my collection I am happy. especially when other "iffy" pieces turn out to be good. but your keen eye and others eyes teach me (us) well and I thank you for that. Glenn
