from what I see the first one look to be fine. the set looks untouched.
second pair looks also good, but seems to be repaired.

First of all ; boots you have shown are M37 and M43 ( or like some of collectors would like to call it M37/43). None of them are M44 cause M44 boots looks completely diffrent then does presented here.

Second of all ; both pair of boots looks original to me. But second pair it is obviosuly repaired ( visible repaired places ).

[4th division]

First pair is made by Jan Berger of Lederarsenal, it is a pair of reproduction boots. You can tell by the "round" hooks. Inside of the boots there should be a stamp saying " JH BERGER " at the back seam.

M37 low boots for me is not textbook. The hooks seems to be too large respect other M37 low boots. Also if them are not in strong use conditions, I don't see the marks in the leather or in the sole. One boot seem without part of leather under the laces, maybe broken. I asked more information at the seller but he does not answer me.

That is very interesting info. Boots looks very well. Noneless my first thought was that hooks looks strange for army boots , they are like in civilian boots, but already seen wartime ankle boots with this type of hooks so everything could happen back than. Anyway thanks for clarify; man learning everyday something new.

PS the berger boots are made for walking, not tricking collectors. I've had a pair for 6 years that have took me all over europe. Very sturdy boots.
