    Strange leather strap 45 dated

    Hi!
I have been ofered this strap for a cheap price. It is wider than fieldgear straps. It is 1945 dated and has a waffenamt, and it has two loops.
What is it used for? Markings are period?
    Thanks

I have asked the seller. The Waffenamt is WaA869

The strap might be OK, looks cavalry related to me as well, but the stamping looks very suspicious IMO.

I've seen this stamp on P08 holsters and other products.....

In my opinion it is a genuine stamp

But It has two different maker marks on it. Which one is the real one?

The WaA is an acceptance stamp by the Waffenamt an not a maker mark:

                    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Waffenamt_codes

The list is not complete, but as you can see the WaA was used at several factories at various times.

Try googling "waffenamt" and you will find more info.
