German Code on canteen: V.A.L. ?

Any ideas on the maker behind this code?

It is on a 1939 dated canteen cup that I have just picked up, and the code is not in my list.

It is not code but shortcut/initials from full name of company ( codes are with small letters and shortcuts/initials of company are written with big letters ) so you will not find name of company among codes.

As anmarlodz says not a 3-letter code, but initials (like WAL = Westfälische Aluminiumindustrie, Lüdenscheid). I don't believe VAL is known, but others here might correct me.

There is a member that has an old german telephone book and could identify companies by their initials. Look for that thread and contact him, he might be able to help you.
