    Tarp for truck or train?

    Hi all,

I´ve got this interesting tarp. It´s German ww2, but I don´t know what was this used for. I guess some train, truck or wagon? It´s size is 8,5 metres na 9,6 metres.

It´s marked Heeres-Verwaltungs-Hauptamt Schweidnitz. Eagles and signs in each corner are painted with black colour postwar.

Anyone has idea what was this tarp used for?
    thanks in advance

That's a really neat item. There can't be many of these around. Thanks for showing it.

"HVHA" means Heeresverpflegungshauptamt, so surely not for a tank!
I have a similiar piece, only field grey, i think part of a tent...

        Best regards

        Dirk

And nice late war fabric, like the MP44 pouches!

Thank you for your feedback guys.

Anyone other knows what was this used for? Friend of mine told me that it may be covering tarp for weapons (such as cannon) stored in warehouses.

But noone is sure with the identification or have some proof. The only know fact is that it´s original german ww2 period stuff.

Anyway, while I don´t have any usage (unfortunatelly I don´t have any original wehrmacht truck, Flak etc. ), it´s ready swap/sale.

            Again images:

I really like this rare item and would hate to see it cut up to make fake MP44 pouches.

As i said, it`s anything ration releated, maybe to cover food?
                Sadly the eagles were removed...

I hope that if someone will be interested sale/swap, it will be for collection, not for the material for making fakes. Anyway, the material is brilliant.
I haven ´t tried to clean blackend eagle and signs yet, I´ll maybe try to do softly.

I´m still looking what exactly this was used for, but I haven´t found any answer with related proof yet
