    Double marked Warie Zelt?

Can anyone say if this zelt marking is normal? Both are Warie stamps - the one of the right is 1940, and on the left is 1944. Possibly repaired at that date....or?
    Thanks!

That is normal for a Walther Reichert "Warei" Zelt

One is the maker mark with the adres in Berlin (not date... Berlin, NW 40), and one is the Patent Stamp

Agree. Absolutely normal markings for this maker.

On a side note, it looks a little bit strange, this particular 1944 stamp........ especially on a Zelt with Alu grommets (and double ones which are features for an early Zelt)

Are you sure that´s a 1944 stamp? Could you show a close-up? It does not match up with the construction of the Zelt (aluminium hardware, 2 small grommets in the corner). I don´t recall having seen a 1944 Warei Stamp before, I would have expected a R.B.Nr. at that time.

The Warei-stamps have been used a lot by fakers lately.

Thanks All. Great info as usual.
Here's a close up of the left stamp. (Perhaps it's 1941, and I'm misreading it)?
The stamp looks like it was applied before the zelt was finished - strange?

Sure looks like '44. A fake?

That is really scarry, it sure looks very convincing.

But, it just does not add up

Warei was one of the big Zelt manufacturers, 1943-marked Zelts are known, but 1944s not to my knowledge, and it does not add up with early war construction.

                  OK, thanks Sonnenwende.
I'll avoid this one. Something doesn't seen right about that marking.

                    Hi Sonnenwende,
Re your email asking about this, agree with your comments.

Looks like a fake stamp for several reasons. Have never seen a '44 date stamp from Warei and the zelt features are in line with '41 construction.

If you look closely at the stamp it actually goes under the facing without any trace of stamp on the facing. The facing also has an old stitch line under the present one and the stitches on the bottom of the facing towards the left corner are not consistent with the ones on the right corner. Looks like someone put the stamp on the zelt and then repaired it sewing the facing over the stamp.
