    Unknown equipment???

I once found this in an old chest. There was other interesting material in it but this I almost threw away since none of my collector buddies have ever seen such a thing and neither did I.

But today I was searching through this forum and found this very interesting picture in the Heer equipment reference thread. It says it's a Pioneer / Artillerie equipment. Very similar to one of my parts.

    Any ideas???

The "artillery pioneer" item IMO looks like a bag for carying anti mine pennants.
But I am not an expert.
Maybe check out the topic below.

Explorer, The two larger bags look like something to tote uniforms in.....Place uniform inside, fold up, and they have a handle to carry.....Bodes

Who would use such "bags" to carry uniforms around and why are they so rarely seen that this seems just like a theory and not a fact? Mine also doesn't have a buckle like that. It doesn't have a buckle at all.

Indeed, the bag for carrying mine pennants is wider at the top. But if you compare mine and the other one I posted that is supposed to be a part of Pioneer equipment they are very similar.

I hope I'll get to the bottom of this why this was for.

The picture I enclosed is supposed to be a German bag.....I didn't say yours was German.....In fact they look American, especially the one on the right in your photo....The handle looks identical to one I have that was from a WW2 US Marine Corps officer.....Bodes

first of all, they are not mineflags, but gas flags (gasspürfähnchen)

secondly yours is not a bag fot gas flags.... don't know what it is, but do know what it is not

                  Equipment.

The two large bags looks like civilian (officers personnal buy ?) bags for travel, to store clothes etc..
