I have two more pouch variations that I am going to post to enhance this thread. The first one is a very rare late war example by FUQ. It is made of a smooth canvas with black pebbled leather straps and brown leather furniture. It is pretty much the same as the other pouch by this maker that I posted earlier. The difference being in the belt loops. These are made of a Luftwaffe grey webbing, of special interest is that the strap ends are reinforced with a black leather tab. Also note the makers logo in white ink stamping on the tabs. FUQ 1945"Great hunter yes! great fisherman yes! fine figure of a man yes! that is all you need to know" Jeremiah Johnson.

Originally posted by Jeff AshenfelterThis next example although not as rare as the previous one deserves mention in this thread. It is a cream colored vinyl pouch with brown leather hardware. Notice that the top flaps are riveted right through the black leather flap ends. The belt loops are black ersatz fabric with reinforced tab ends. The most notable feature of this pouch is that it is maker marked Bla 1944. Jeff"Great hunter yes! great fisherman yes! fine figure of a man yes! that is all you need to know" Jeremiah Johnson.

Note the color of the metal strap studs and the patina of the flap rivets. Top flaps are sewn not riveted and the belt loops are also brown leather. Notice the width of the belt loops, they are much wider than other examples that I own. Of special interest is the three letter code maker mark qkv 44. I have not been able to track this maker down, perhaps someone else knows who it is! There is also a very faint Waffenampt stamp next to the MM, however I cannot make out the number on it.
