    DRK Messtin

    Hello! What do you think of this DRK messtin (signature L&SL43)? There are two the same ink stamps "Deutches Rotes Kreuz. Kreisstelle Offenheim", which were made on the top and bottom of this messtin. I think due to this it's a quite rare item. Am I right?

    It's standard steel M31/42 messkit with added stamp. I suspect that stamp was added postwar ( never seen any with such stamp before ).

      Many practical items (blankets, field bottles etc) went to Red Cross organisations after the war. This could be one of those items.

        But the designation "Kreisstelle" was discontinued after the war... and the DRK was issued with "heeresgleich"en models.

          I must add both of these stamps were made in gothic alphabet.
