    Equipment Strap Identification Request

    Gents;

    We have a black leather strap of some type that we think is German. However, we are not 100% certain, nor do we know what it was used for. The strap has an overall length of approximately 55 inches. There are no markings that I can see.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Best regards to all,

    Clay

        Ähmmmm Tom, a lot of equipment buckles were black! The canteenstrap buckles for example...
        I got these Reichswehrstraps last week... also black buckles!

              I think the "hook" on the other and of the strap is more of a "problem", are these known to be used on German equipment at all ??

                Yes, for example the sling on the flare rounds pouch.

                  Can we have a closeup of the hook ?

                      One more thought, this is a rather wide belt. It has a width of 43mm, perhaps too wide for a Sam Browne style cross shoulder strap. This strap is thick too, like the thickness of a standard German WWII waistbelt.

                          Guys, we believe this strap is German but we don't know its possible use. There are no markings that we can see anywhere on this strap.

                          Its a real mystery to us.

                            Guys, any ideas on what this long strap was used for?
