    Late war frog help

Does anyone have a good trick to get a scabbard into a late war (simplified) frog? The fit is pretty tight, even without trying to get over the stud. Wet the leather? I want to be super careful, and not damage the piece.

The chance of the leather to crack is imminent....

so are you sure you want to take this chance? looks pretty tight to me

what i have done in the past: put a screwdriver under the leather and very very very gentle push the bayonet in the frog....

but then again, looking at this I would not do it :give-up:

3 times I tried to open the dry leather straps on a canteen. 3 times they broke

Wetting the leather will help, bit once dried it will be even tighter and you will never get the scabbard out of it again.

          Better dont do it.

This is not a late war frog... this is the model to carry the bayonet along the entrechning tool... made since 1942...

no chance to put the frog about the frogstude without damage the frog.

If you want to try with vaseline or skin moisturizing cream.... but with a lot, and letting it all night before even trying.
