Lately I have seen those for sale for 150-175 euro on ebay, so IMO the ebay is more accurate, as it is real market value.

What was the purpose of the hook on the Tragegurt 34 Ammunition can Carrying strap? (I am not refering to the two hooks on the end that hook onto the cans) but the one further up on the strap...

You can hook that under your waistbelt, so you can unhook one of the boxes without the other falling onto the ground after losing its "counterbalance"
