Help about a strange MG munitionkasten...

Hi Gentlemen,

I'm asking you about any idea, explanation you may have about this MG34 ammunition box.
A friend of mine just gave it to me. It belonged to him for some long time.
The red bands make me think about Platzpatronen or exercise ammunition. The white Kar markings and the grey painting could be an explanation for some KM and K98 purposes: to avoid handling card box Tragschlaufe in a wet environment. Of course, it's only my personal analysis.

Does anybody of you have such kind of 'box'? or picture or idea?

looks like for ammo not for MG but for 98k

I would guess the same....K98 ammo, perhaps for shipboard (KM) due to the color?

It could be so (KM). Perhaps they might know at the KM forum.
