M30 magnetical gas mask.

Hello,

I'm very happy and glad to show you my brand new bee. In very nice condition!

Modell 30.
Size2.
Parts are from 1939 to 1944...

The lens rings are dated 1939 inside and 44 for the outside lens.
Also the lens strapping is dated 1943.
Name of his owner painted on the filter and on the strap.


Container :

ebu: Eckhardt & Co., Fabrikerzeugung von Auto-gen u. Atemgeraete, Chotebor

Bottom stamped with D for leaf.

Lens:

byd: Draegerwerk, Hein. & Bernh. Draeger, Luebeck

fny : Allgemeine Elektrizitätsges, Metallwerke Oberspree, Berlin-Oberschönweide. (lens strapping)

Filter:

Type F41 Fe



Painted in dark blue for the lens strapping and for the tube.
It seems to be a magnetical gas mask.
Do you now why the magnetical masks were used ?

The magnetic gas mask is provided for units not equipped with directional circuits and optical instruments with magnetic needle (except the marching compass).

Units with magnetic needle instruments retain the previously non-magnetic gas mask.

btw, can you see of the mask belongs to the cannister ??

And, is there an Eagle with big M inside the mask (roughly where the maker mark byd is)

Also check the inside of the spare lens compartment for an Eagle with M

If there are , this is a Kriegsmarine mask, otherwise normal Heer

Thanks for your informations.

No KM eagles found in the mask or in the the spare lens compartment.
This mask was in his cannister. Markings are ebu 43.
