Advice and information required if possible

Hello. I'm afraid I am very much an amateur when it comes to these things and I hope I have posted in the correct section of your forum.

If it would be possible for the forum to give me some advice and information on a couple of items I would very much appreciate it.

First thing. I have a anemometer. Left to me by my grandfather who served on a British carrier. I know little about it apart from the obvious. Could anyone tell me where these were used, what sort of date etc? I can see no markings on the body at all only the number 224192 painted on the face.

The second is a M53. this has caused a little more confusion as I'm told it has a Yugo body (it doesn't have the fixing for the AA sight) but is marked waa. I'm told this is impossible as the yogo versions without the AA sight fixings were made after the German version has creased production. Is this right? could some tell me if this did start life as an MG42 and if it didn't how does it bear a waa marking. The bipod and a number of other parts are also marked waa etc but of course these could of been changed at any time.

Any information would be superb on either. Thank you.

Regarding the MG, it sounds like your typical "parts kit" to me....some Yugo, some German. Here's what I've read about these late MG's with some WaA markings: That the majority of these "parts" were those left unfinished in occupied Czechoslovakia after the war and later assembled by the Czechs for post war sale to other countries.
