This canteen has been in my collection for several years, I recently discouvered what appears to be an ss mark on the leather frame (only the frame). I found many topics on ss marked canteens but not really a usefull one one leather canteen frames (maybe I didn't use propper terminology).
Canteen marked CFL43/ Cup GFC 1944/ Metal hook also marked and leather frame has an ss stamp.
The ss mark is hard to photograph, for the moment this is the best I could do.
What's your opinion?
