        late mess kit

As mentioned high price, I've seen these go for around 75 Euro. Understand the 44 dated ones like these are a little harder to find then the 45 dated ones. My guess is only a relative few were produced before the change of the year.

          late mess kit

Hi...I have 3 or 4 of these.....can't get rid of them. People don't like them since they don't have the latch. CRAZY!!!

I picked one up on eBay some years ago for next to nothing, no body wanted it.

Are these generally considered Wehrmacht issue?

I bought one of these on the E-Stand, 44 dated, for about the price of a normal mess kit. Nobody knows for sure if these were Wehrmacht issue or not. Mess kits were also used by civilians in those days...

Would be interesting to see those, MULON, it might shed some light on the question of who used them.

I'll do as soon new pictures.
IMO these mess kit was sure used in a POW camp and/or probably about just a little bit units of the Wehrmacht, but this is just an opinion.....I haven't anything in my hand to demostrate this my theory.

Aloy it's hard to photograph.....so I hope that these old pictures could be good.

This is the first one, a classic MN45 without handle and with steel parts wich is easy to find.
The soldier (POW IMO) was a lover....

This is the second one, and viewing this one I'm going to think that could be used by POW (DAK??).
There are an Egyptian man, palma and piramyd......IMO a really beauty....is it?
And this one is just a little bit harder to find because it's totally maded in alluminium:

Thanks for sharing MULON, looks like typical POW-decoration, so it is very possible that they were actually Wehrmacht issue IMO.
