My Mint M39 Tornister with added surprise

I just bought this and it is the nicest tornister I ever saw.It has a late war code,0/0676/0033 which I cant seem to find much information about.I have just seen that code on ammunition pouches so far.It all has that old smell but as you can see never been used. Now about that added surprise I think its for a mess tin but I'm not sure,I've never seen one quite like it.Maybe there is somebody out there that can tell me.

I guess they would put anything they needed to put in it or was it designed for something to carry?

                    Mint Tornister

                    Hi Stephen,
You did really well on that deal but I suggest you need to learn up on your field equipment!
As others have pointed out, the bag for the A-frame is worth more than the Tornister - does it have a maker's mark on it?
My concern is that you've been able to buy something unknowingly of good value but be careful before you sell ANYTHING that you know what you're parting with before it's too late!
To return to the main point of your thread - that's a very nicely marked Tornister in truly mint condition.
                    Well done,
                    Grossfuss

Really nice Tornister, and indeed a nice surprise.

The Rb.Nr. stands for "Karl Seeger GmbH - Offenbach"

You guys realize this bag is about half the size, even a little smaller than that of the tornister? This is not close to the same size. There are no markings that I can see.I have been collecting for about 12 years and yes backpacks and a frame accessories are not my strong point. But thank you for all the comments,I love this site!!

Yes. It is an A-Frame bag. Not very common, and much more desirable than the tornister.

Okay I see them on this site, haha I just couldn't believe such a small bag could be worth that much!!!Sometimes I get lucky like that, you would think the guy that sold me the tornister would have known this was in it,I just cant believe it.I will always cherish everything I have and when I'm old and gray all this will be hard to part with but it should add to a nice retirement haha!!!
