1941 Dated Y Straps, visible stitches

I incorrectly assumed that Y-straps with exposed stitching did not come out til 1944. I was corrected with the true date of 1943. However, the same person I was talking to said he found a pair of 1941 dated Y straps with exposed stitching. However, this does not sit well with me at all. Thoughts?

This hobby hat tought me one thing: never say never

    However:

1 - the stamp is on a strange (not common) place

2 - The hooks are also comonly found on late type Y straps

This leads me to believe the stamp is not good..... but that's just my opinion

Im quite puzzled about these too, but i have no problem with the place of the stamp, i even have a pair of Ystraps where the maker mark is on the backstrap!

I think these might be assembled postwar (with original parts) with fake stamps added (because we collectors love stamps :-) )

          But thats just a guess....

I too would give these Y straps a miss.

The more I look at the stamp the more it makes me feel "uncomfortable" The font, the spacing between the letters and the indentation on the leather look strange.
