Show and Tell- motorcycle searchlight image heavy

Here is my original motorcycle searchlight. As far as I have been able to discover, it is the last one intact. Let me know if you see another. it is made to mount on the Nurnberg-style MG bracket. the light is made of brass. I have made my own bulb by modifying an H4 headlight bulb to fit in the original socket. I do have a box of the original bulbs, but they use an odd voltage. The bulb is in an anti-shock housing, and can be focused with knobs on the back. The light is very well made, but does not normally leave its storage box, because I am afraid of breaking the original engraved glass. FYI, the bracket outboard of the searchlight is for a hand-cranked siren. if you know more about these, let me know.

The plug and breaker box are made of bakelite

Both the glass lens and the mirror bear the zeiss logo

the same logo is on the back of the unit

    Better view from the rear

here is another example i found, from "SS uniformss Insignia & Accoutrements" by A. Hayes

    thanks for looking- toad

I am very lucky to have such a place to work. the building was a gift from my Mom, so that My Dad and I would have a place to work together. The building has underfloor heating and six or more inches of insulation on all sides, including under the slab. The following image shows one third of the building. Not shown is the woodworking shop, gunsmithing shop, leather and fabric shop with two commercial sewing machines, reloading tables and chem lab space. Upstairs is drafting tables, electronic shop, computers and bathroom. this is an old photo, so in the image most of the tools have not yet migrated from the old shop.
