I recently picked this ammo pouch up from the nephew of a ww2 vet along with a bunch of tinnies, stickpins and a bayonet. My question is this pouch has what appears to be black rubber foam pads installed in the bottom of the pouches. Is that a normal thing, I've never seen it before, or was there a specific reason for this, or was this something particular to this maker. Any help or ideas will be greatly appreciated.
