      Panzer Grenadier Mug

Hello All, I did not know where to post this, this is my first of three steins and mugs I recently purchased. I can translate the sides easy enough I think. But these were posted as WWI and I think this is a WWII Panzer Grenadier, they would not of been called this during WWI would they, can some one decipher the front starting with the Pz part. Many Thanks, Jack

        Actually I can not translate:
        This part "Reserve has Ruh"
The other part is : To commemorate your service.
        But what does Ruh mean.
        Thanks Jack

This is a Bundeswehr unit, formed in 1959.

This Bierkrug is not older than 1962 though, earlier they didn't have the add on "SPz". This stands for Schützenpanzer which the the Batallion received in 1962.

The Pz.Gren. Btl. 53 (former Pz.Gren.Btl. 22 - which was formed out of the Grenzschutzgruppe 4) was one of the first formed units of the Bundeswehr.
In 1962 the unit was equipped with the Spz (Schützenpanzer/APC) HS 30 so they have received the add on SPz.

Reserve hat Ruh means Reserve has rest.

              Cheers,
              Philipp
