"bread bag" strap?

Guys how wide is a normal bread bag strap?
I have come across a strap similar to a breadbag strap but it appears wider... Anyone who could help me with info on it?
Pictured measure tape is in centimeters.

The strap is 4,4 cm wide or 1.73 inch

because, i think, they were usable with the kit bag and this was much heavier. but thats a good question and im not 100 per cent sure. this is brownish colour-possibly ww1?
