    Y-straps - unfinished or simplified?

For the first sight these are quite common, late war Y-straps marked with RBNr. But interesting is that there are no suspender straps. What do you think of it? Have you ever seen such Y-straps?

    Interesting set !!! probably unfinished....

I know some soldiers cut away the aux. straps, but I've never seen a set without them.....

If they were simplified, why the D-rings on the back (?)
On the other hand, a Zelt could be attached to the D-rings as can be seen often.....

Guess we'll never know if this was intentional or just an unfinished pair.... very nice set !

      Tom,

I sent you the photos of the same maker parts, maybe I did not get all of them?

Could be post war assembled from original parts?

I will do some digging localy.

At best unfinished as they have never been riveted?

110402, where in Europe are you? Anywhere near Celle/Hannover?

IMHO all details of the construction of these Y-straps suggest they're made just pre 1945.

I only ask your location as I picked up just short of 100 parts marked up as yours just before Christmas.

If there are more bits and unfinished gear out there it would be good to know.

As for me the most interesting and misterious thing is there'we made hollows for the sewing threads. You can see them on the #3. Were the auxiliary straps added at the end of the production cycle? Hard to say
