    Breadbag with leather insert

    Hi

I know this has been shown before, but I can't find it this instant.....

Anyway, here the "famous" breadbag with leather map / pencilcase...... just in from ebay

Still not known what it's particular use was, but the ones shown before were all the same maker:

Sachs & Deisselberg, Hamburg (and in this case 1940)

Did anybody find out anything new about them ? I've seen examples from 1936, 1938 and mine 1940

Here some pictures... at 1st you think, normal breadbag with brown fittings

but when you open it: Tadaaaaaa

Pictures of hook with maker stamp

    Detail shot

    And a complete "interior" look

          Tom,

The strap with mine reminds me of KM and you have seen the pics.

          Could it be for KM?

The theory of it being for a Speiss NCO sounds well. A place for the note book + pencils.

Thanks Guys, and thanks Frozzer, for the link , do you own that breadbag ???

@ Jock.... could be Kriegsmarine, but then it would normally have a BAK stamp on it.... The same maker has been producing K98 pouches which have KM acceptance stamps, so they did prodice for the Kriegsmarine !!
But, I also so a normal breadbag strap with this maker mark

Could you post some pictures of yours as well here ?

It was indeed sold as Zugführer / Spieß breadbag..... but no proof of this....

We know that they at least produced this type of breadbag from 36 - 40.

Maybe some day we'll find out

This maker made also backpacks and A-frames ( I have an A-frame made by this maker ). Seen already few example of those breadbags and as far as i remeber it was always the same maker and always made with natural brown leather parts.
