    Jackboots need opinion

    Guys,

I'm thinking of getting these pair from a dealer website. the description on the site is : " ORIGINAL WWII GERMAN M1939 BLACK LEATHER JACK BOOTS "

Would like to know you fine gentlemen 's opinion before i do.

    Thank's guys!

    Cheers,
    Nick

There is no model "M39" existing - and those here look more like M1866 (side sewings).

But they are in fact postwar check firepolice, easy to spot by the toe-cap-like sewings.

Someone should produce a reference book on "Footwear of the CZ Army". It would no doubt be about 1000 pages showing several hundred variations of high boots and low boots based on the number that we have seen posted here over the years attributed to the CZ forces.

For a force that existed about 15 years prior to WWII and again about 40 years afterwards, it is incredible for at least two reasons: The vast variety of wooden pegged leather soled military footwear produced (apparently even decades after this method was replaced everywhere else in the world.....or they made a hundered million pairs during the late 40s and 1950s?) and the even more extensive amount that was never issued if the many so attributed examples posted are in fact of that origin.
