    Straight shovel - WH ?

    Hello,

What do you think about this shovel? In general, at least I think so, it's a good one but I have some concerns, e.g. about the fitting of the wood to the metal. Also the stamp isn't readible enogh to make sure. Maybe anyone have seen already this stamp?

    Thanks a lot for help.

Good one, Wehrmacht issue, in my opinion.

Agree. Looks to be 1945 dated Teplitz made straigh shovel.( but could be also 1943 dated - hard to read the markings ). H stands for Heer ( Army ).

I have an identical model - H - Teplitz 1945. The handle is very rough, and has none of the "fitted" or flush look of earlier models.

The guy that sells them seems to have found a whole bunch of them. He sold 4 of them in the past month and has a few others for sale now.....

They are IMHO but I was waiting for one with a better readable stamp

            Hi Tom
Here's a clearer pic of the maker's mark. My spade came from the Collector's Guild (Canada), although these seem to be somewhat common lately.
