    Aircraft Clock

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...tem=2265535424

    Hi guys,

    Three questions.

    1) Is it what it claims to be?

    2) How was the price?

    3) Anyone know of anyone experienced in the repair of these before I take mine to the local clock butcher?

    Cheers,
    David.
At Rathau on the Aller, the CO of 5th Royal Tanks advanced on foot to take a cautious look into the town before his tanks moved in. He encountered one of his own officers, a huge Welshman named John Gwilliam who later captained his country's rugby team, 'carrying a small German soldier by the scruff of his neck, not unlike a cat with a mouse.' The Colonel said: 'Why not shoot him?' Gwilliam replied in his mighty Welsh voice: 'Oh no, sir. Much too small.'

David, answer to Question #1 is Yes(aircraft clock but also used in bombers such as He-111's) Question #2, Not bad....I paid $3.00 for mine in a junk shop but saw one sell on Manion's auction house for over $600(mint in original box). Question #3 Take it to your local clock butcher as they have a pretty delicate movement....

      Thanks for the info.

I'll see if I can get it repaired locally then if no one specializes.

      Cheers,
      David.

        Luftwaffe a/c clock

I have had several of these through the years, and I have had them all repaired at the local clocksmith. No biggie. A minty one is worth a couple of hundred, range $175 to $350.

Its a nice common junghans borduhr. On german ebay they go for around 200 euros. I took mine to the watchmakers to get it fixed and he hated it! He said it was very hard to fix etc but he still managed too. As said above these clocks didn't come only out of 109's

He just rebuilt these two clocks for me.

The one on the left has temporary knobs while he is manufacturing me originals.
