Water bag

Just found in the countryside, really sad condition. Were these maker-marked and if so, where should I look for any markings? What is the capacity of these and what is its correct German name?

nice item. maker marked they were, either to base or on the top lid. look hard, as they fade with use, obviously. ill say these were standard with field kitchens. other issuance i dont know.

Thanks for your answer. I tried the search button and found some of these bags, one had very nice Luftwaffe stamp on the bottom, another one had a 3-letter code and date on the wooden handle. I will wash the bag later today and hope to find some markings on it.

dont wash away the history ie the dust and dirt, or the dates, i suggest.

If you want to clean it just soak in a bath tub of clear water and let it slowly drying afterwards

I did so, very carefully, but unfortunately no markings appeared. I also asked one of my friend to look over his water bag, which is in very quite good condition, and neither did he discover any traces of markings.

These look different to your's. I would call your's a Wassersack, different to the Tränkeimer or Futtereimer. (Drinking and Feeding Buckets) (collapsible of course)
