2 unknown bags - need help

i found this years ago on a fleamarket - but i dont know what it is?
german ? WW2?

obvious differences aside, bag 2 looks ' a bit' like a pionier tool bag. dont think bag 1 is even ww2, or ww2 italian...

theres a bundesarchiv pic of two young grenadiers, in greatcoats, toques, helmets, lying in a fox hole smoking cigarettes and looking quite chilly and bedraggled. in the bottom right hand corner is a bag with a red cross on the front flap. that bag in the picture looks like the second one you have featured in your thread here. know what i mean?

First bag is not german WW2, likely post WW2, could even be a 90s civilian military fashion inspired clothing bag lacking its carrying strap IMO, has a brass zipper with strange pull strap for starters.

Not sure about the second bag.

You would not consider US in appearance with the webb material?

I don't know but maybe if it were cross referenced in the allied forum it could be ruled out?

I would check if the second one is not of WW2 Austrian origin. From my experience German made did not use rivetting. I have map case made in a very similar way (the same fabric and reinforced with leather on the edges) but was impregnated with some black liquid to waterproof it

the Zipper maker is CONMAR
