I'm not sure (out of my interest), but could be a long strap for GBJ rucksack.

Length 73 cm, 9 holes. Strap looks very new and the smell of fresh leather ..

id say early post war. the extra leather stay can be found on such period straps.

Leather smell apart,I do not think is German Militaria WW2 item IMHO

It looks very much like a strap used on a post war (Bundeswehr) search light with tripod....

I have one and the leather straps that hold the tripod looks exactly the same....

But the Bundeswehr (west germany) would for sure not used any straps made in Dresden (east germany)....
