    Hi Sonnenwende, Lucius!!
The information of it being manufactured between 1943-44 and that they're not Russian Captured pouches is awesome!!!! That's news I've been waiting for for a long time. Imagine, I really didn't like them because they looked too new and thought they were either repro's/post-war pouches. Now that the mystery is solve, I can work it into my mid-war set up.

    Thanks again!!!
    Aloha,
    Rodney

[QUOTE=Luciusdegeer;5533162]I was told the metal parts would be painted by forced labourers or concentration camp inmates, so the paint would be applied very sloppily. They used both 'real' paint and some kind of tar, that can both be removed easily with your fingernail. All K98 pouches had black paint on them, on G43 pouches I sometimes saw green paint.

Just to be precise: of course I meant by this that RC pouches were always treated this way POST-WAR by SOVIET slave labourers. These examples are in no way RC pouches. The paint on the rivets is neatly factory-applied, not sloppily like on RC pouches.

      Glad to be of help,

      Lucius
