This is really good Bernhard, thanks for sharing the info and for the research effort.

We might not know every Factory with 100% certainty, but this is a great leap forward.

I hope some day someone cracks the RBNr.s as well, perhaps a list will show up.

      Thank you Sonnenwende ,

Here is what I brought home today from a local military show
and looked up in the phonebook...

Two belthangers in pre-war natural finish , nicely stamped and a
      very nice Kriegsmarine cap.
All three item´s maker were found in the directory.

              Hi Bernhard,

Nice catch. Interesting belthangers, especially the first shown. Not to highjack the thread, but I have seen that strange narrow "D-ring" before from time to time, does the Y-straps fit these (I´m sure the ones with the wider hook does not) or do you know if they are are for something else (a cross-strap perhaps?)?

              Regards

                      Hi Giancarlo ,

From all the makers you posted PSL is known to me.
                      The maker is :
                      Paul Schulze Lübeck
They were in business in 1942 as you can see by their phonebook
                      entry.
Their three letter code was "akq".
This firm was also in business after the war as a maker for Bundeswehr
                      helmets and canteens.

                      Ciao !

                              Süddeutsche Metallwarenfabrik Mussbach

                              What do you think ?
