    My GJR boots.. :D

well... it's early morining - 9 AM... I was back from work 6.30 AM.... _ I am going to shooting range with friends soon... - so when waiting for them.. I decided to share with You guys this boots .. and a nice story behind them....

got this boots more than a year ago from internet auction in Poland.... pictures were blury... but I decided to go after ... I paid like $70..

waiting for package was exciting as always... - and here they came :d
nice well used.. and.. MISMATCHED !!!!!
    heheheh..
both boots are the same size.. were worn by the same person.. they are polished the same way.. same use.. - but they are mismatched...
I asked seller for a story behind those boots... He said that they belonged to his unckle who died lately - but during war was a prisoner in Auschwitz... After liberation of this camp Russians were giving cloths and boots from dead german soldiers and from captued depots - to ex-prisoners - so they could walk home ....
at that time he got those two mismatched boots..

    now I have them..
took my 1 month to bring them good look - removed all layers of shoe polish and some other crap...
    hope you like this progress..
    enjoy

            VERY NICE JOB !

But ... you need a pair of Wickelgamaschen instead of the Stoffgamaschen

If the boots show the same wear the fact that they're slightly mis-matched doesn't detract...I've got several mis-matched pair used by the very same soldier and showing the same degree of wear and one of them is on its way to Canada......
                  Ciao

the way I restore boots is kinda top secret.. .. actually its less secret... than the fact that it's hard to explain in English - I was useing some stuff I know only Polish name - and none of translators can translate this one...

Bart- You are right ..... - one day I will fix this

PS today shooting was fun... .. we were shooting old M1 helmet.. - got ricochet in the leg (propably stone ??) - cut my leg a bit.. some blood on boots - thats what we call fun
should i get Black wound badge ?!?!?
                    \

No Mikey....you should have someone calling you all sort of names in this case my brother , and I'm sorry to tell you that!
I go to the range at a regular basis and while it's fun it could be dangerous, especially when shooting at targets at a very close range or plinking, when ricochets,or fragment of exploding bullets(especially .22s) may hit you! What if that small splinter had hit your eye?Chances are you'd have been left blind!
You're a good friend and I'd rather know that your blood is INSIDE your veins rather than the opposite!
I've nearly lost my right eye once because of the "confidence" I had in what I was doing and it's kinda sad to know that you've hurt yourself, albeit slightly!
Sorry for talking to you like an old grandma Mike, but since you're a friend I reckon that that's how I'd talk to you in the flesh....before having a beer or two of course!
On to your boots now;you've done a superb job and if you need a few tips PM me;I'm saying that because it envolves using chemicals and I know that our Forums are visited by younger enthusiasts.....I don't mean to say that chemicals wouldn't do adults any harm though!

I know.. and agree with You... I was quite unlucky (I coud be mor unclucky - like get this in my eye)
that was the last shooting.. and still target was about 50-60 feet away

.. and I wasnt shooting - my friend was - I was just looking from behind... hmm... a bad luck

                        anyway.. i am still alive
will PM you later .. just woke up...

PS where is my medal anyway.. hee.. ??
