Very nice, especially with the provenance which is often lost and long forgotten

Wow...very nice clock. I wanted to let you know that I have the same clock. The one I have was removed from a u-boat in Norway (unknown ID number). It was removed personally by my fathers uncle after the war (he actually removed 2 and gave us one). Unfortunately he had the KM eagle and number ground off . It is still a very nice piece tho. I am curious on one point, ours was painted black after the war. I dilligently removed the paint to show the brass underneath. Alas, I too was looking for more history on the clock (ie the uboat ID number), but have not been able to find any. If someone does give you any info, please let me know. Again, very nice clock . It is good to see another one.

              Apparently they were issued black.
I am still learning about these clocks and look forward to any new book coming on the market.
              Cheers rob for your reply
