    Verbandkasten

    Hello,

I found this verbandkasten. What does it mean numbers 44558 in it ? Is this number of unit ?

    Here are photos:

    Thank you.

Quite complete I would suggest it's the number of the vehicle it went in, rather than the unit.

I really like the pre printed packing slip. Never seen one of those before. Two of my kits have inspection slips. One is typed and signed and the other one is a large stamp on a piece of scrap paper with the information filled in.

If you can read german, just compare the contents with the content list and you'll know

If you can't read german, I believe Ed has a content list in English.... maybe he is willing to put it up here...

In time I will do a subject on the Verbandkasten on my site, but I still have a few other things that I want to put up first..

And I am missing some contents as well, so I 1st have to get it complete

This is what I see that is missing:

                Leukoplast adhesive tape (nr. 522)
cloth or leather pouch that holds 20 safety pins
cloth pouch to hold rubber tourniquet (marked abschnurbinde)
cloth pouch for large triangular cloth (marked verbandtuch)
10 small bandages. These can be either sealed or wrapped with string.
                Cloth pouch for the scissors/tweezers.

I am having problems uploading pictures. Send me your email and I will show you pictures of what you are missing.

Nice; are the various pieces be placed in a pre-established order?

Not necessarily. However you can fit the items into the case.
