    Company Weapons Decon Kit

    Forum,

I was wondering if anyone had any of the pieces I am missing... I know I am missing the black and brown rags and rubber gloves. Also, the laquered pasteboard cover for the tall bottle has a matching threaded bottom cap that is missing as well. I suspect there may have been a similar cover for the short bottle as well. I would also be interested in any information regarding what type of over pack this was in. I am certain there is a crate of some sort out there.

Thought I might clarify... the threaded end cap I am missing goes on the bottom of a laquered cardboard, form fitting cover that fits over the tall bottle with the red cap. I was not refering to either of the storage tubes show, those are complete.

That's not stuff you see every day. Whilst i can't help you with your missing parts you may be interested to know that we found one of the red capped bottles recently in a large dump of anti-gas related items. The bottle was still full with what must be some kind of chlorine based liquid. It was emptied and cleaned with a great deal of care i can tell you.

        Simon,

Yes the decon solutions and tablets for that matter are very chlorinated and highly caustic as a result. Because of this, I believe the suggestion that the losantin tablets were carrieed in the gas mask to be a false one. In fact, I have a gas defense training pamphlet that clearly shows a soldier removing it (losantin)from his tunic breast pocket. I have seen first hand what this stuff can do to fabrics etc. Should it be carried in with the mask and if it wear to leak, it would be a disaster for the mask.
