That is one super early zelt. This is possibly only the 4th '33 dated zelt I've seen and from a very rare maker as well.

        - can you post more photos of it showing the camouflage patterns and construction of corners etc.

B33 - Berlin depot stamp - 33 is obviously the year which matches the 1933 factory stamp.

A welcome addition to your collection for sure
        Cheers

great question Tom and one I have often wondered about. I have never seen one.

I have 2 zelts from '32 and at least one from every year after that. It is quite possible '31 zelts were made only in small quantities and used mainly in field trials etc but this is only speculation.

If they were only made in small quantities probably most were lost or destroyed with use.

One day I hope to see one. I would really like to see if there was any difference in the construction, fabric and printing. This '33 Otto Sindel, shown here, has interesting buttonholes that differ from most others zelts I've encountered.

BTW - your Reduced Splinter zelt is on the way to you today

            Cheers

Hi and thanks to you gentlemen,

I'll try to post some other picture of it

              Thanks

PS: For the moment, it will stay with my other tent as it just came in.

                Here are some other pictures.
Ask me if it's not enough or if you want to see some 'specific' aspect of the construction (and sorry for the flash effects... )

                  Hi Bruno
Thanks for posting additional photos - from that one original pic you posted it looked like the buttonhole was hand done but from these pics they are machine made and just look like most of them have spread open somewhat. Still have the hand knotted thread closing off the end.

one more request - can we see the underside of the zelt - just one side fully opened up so I can see the full camouflage pattern.

This is one exceptional zelt given the condition and the fact that it is dated '33. Amazing piece. You're a lucky zelt collector to have found this one.

                  cheers

Really nice, congrats and thanks for share it.
Viewing the name of the soldier (type of signature/material), IMHO could be for KM or LW, could be?

                        Hi,
A little bit late, but here are picture from the 'darkest' and 'lightest' side of this zelt (sorry, no way for taking pictures on natural light... )

Just on the last picture detail of these 'little' light grains on the tent...

                        Regards

Thankyou Bruno - just what I wanted to see - regular raindrop pattern on this one.

One often encounters these small light coloured ovals or in your case looks like they are almost vertical lines on the back side of early production zelts. Still not sure why or how this was achieved but is notably absent after 40 - 41.

                          Cheers -
