doesn't have to be a fake. I saw this style camo rucksacks on a book about camo clothing of the Wehrmacht and it's said to appear not that seldomly. It would be field made, surely. But this one looks way to new to my. Just take a look on the leather strips

With all the due respect,the fact that BS has one of these rucksacks for sale ain't a 101% guarantee of originality at all and it wouldn't be with any other dealer for that matters,nor is one of these appearing on a Schiffer's book;they're darn good,classy books (bar a very pedantic one dealing with some sort of WW2 German headgear,giving heaps of useless info on this kind of cap and next-to-nothing when it comes to the rest !) but with the odd repro/miscaptioned item here and there and the usual several hundreds pieces belonging to this or that "trusted authority" featured to boost their values...and that's popular believing not only my own conviction !
In my humble opinion this rucksack is a fake, but I'll have a look at BS's one..out of curiosity!

Hey Guys,,,I seen 2 of these once at a flea market in the eifel region of Germany.The markets in thiis region are ok and mostly the sellers are back woods farmers. The ww2 items are often in rusty piles of helmets, empty shells and assorted junk,you name it and usually quite cheap. If it makes any difference to you guys I dpotted these 2 in bad shape in one of these piles, I wouldnt buy one now days but I think they might have been some sort of postwar thing out of spare material.

I agree with you 123% Munster!Italy's rag depots are full of post-war "ersatz" rucksacks made of all sorts of materials and patterned on WW2 ones coming from Germany,Austria and Poland, which are sold as "ersatz WW2 rucksacks" by Italy's miluturdia junk-dealers!
I've taken a look at BS's one and I'd happily pass on that one as well !

P.S;when an Italian (Tuscanian) militurdia dealer doesn't know what he's holding in his hands,but HE KNOWS that it could be anything but a 1)GERMAN, 2)GENUINE, 3)WW2 ITEM, he labels it as "ersatz" and tries to stick it up the next fool's a@@ !

I have not been collecting unifroms anywhere near long enough to know if this rucksack is real or not, or even give an educated opinion. My mother always told me to "speak when you have something worth speaking about". But I do find it interesting that such a well know and respected dealer would have such a controversial piece on his sit. Sometimes I feel like riding through Washington DC on my Ducati at 130mph is a "safer" hobby.

I passed on the 2 I seen when I was 12,,I had very little knoweldge at that age what I was buying but 99% of what I picked out of those junkpiles was good stuff. I would definitely pick something like that rucksack up maybe for 30 euros for actual personal use! PM me if you want to get rid of it
