    Shipping question

Hello all could someone please help me with a shipping question. I am in the process of shipping an item into the us using Fedx.
They are makin us fill out an invoice. There are two questions I am unsure of.
One they are asking for a consignees tax number? I am not a business so what do I put there.
The other they are asking for an export references?
Or is there another company with less headaches?
    Thank you in advance

As most of them work with business Customers, it's normal.
The best is to ask them directly, to help you with your problems.
Also depends on from where you want to ship. Mostly easier to use the Mail with Insured Parcels.

Fed Ex is the best I've found for reliable shipping but it is expensive and not for everyone. As a self employed illustrator, I guess I am considered a business but in more than 20 years I've never had to fill out "tax numbers". There is a definite protocol that is necessary when using courier companies for international shipping but usually the company will provide advice when asked. Alternately, you might contact a customs broker for advice. Sometimes it is just easier to use the Postal system.
