    True Vet Bb Y Straps(field Repaired!)on Ebay!

I've just bought these...and no one in his or her right mind would have ever dreamt of a time-warp just to bring a pair of Y straps with too short a back strap to the Kompanie Schuster and have them lenghtened!
I'm sure that many collectors have passed on them, but these are one of the more"talking"pieces I've seen to date!Priced right and the rucksack(I 101% believe the "same old story"!!)came for free!
Now I definitely must dress old Wolfgang up like a 1945 Landser!
    Hope you enjoy!
    Manny

      Hi Manny,
interesting find. I wonder if this was a field modification for a taller soldier to lengthen the straps for comfort, as opposed to repairing a break?
I have a pair of winter reversable trousers that have had each leg lengthened by the addition of additional camo material (from splinter and T/W pattern smocks!).

I never bother with "ebay" for German bits....maybe i should look closer from time to time.....

      Patrick.

PS. sorry...just re-read the start of your post, and realised this is exactly what you have said. I was thrown by the thread title. I really must stop reading the forum before breakfast.
I'm going off to turn my brain on now.....

You're perfectly right instead Patrick, the thread title is different from what I say in the post.....my fault !
The back strap's lenght looks ok,so I guess that the strap has simply been lenghtened to fit a taller guy!
The job is a little "work of art"in its own right and has been done to perfection....adding the back strap of a gas mask cannister to it!
        Cheers
        Manny
