As far as I can tell - looks real, - I am not sure for what gun was it issued - MP40 or other - ERMA etc.

It looks real enough, however, by 1942, the magazine pouches for the MP38/MP40 were constructed from canvas with leather fastenings and straps.
To answer Kuligow's question, those mag pouches were to fold magazines for the MP38 and MP40. However, I HAVE seen photos of troops armed with MP28s and MP35s using them. Thee magazines they used were virtually identical.
