Price for this Zeltbahn?

Hi,

Here is a Zelt I have a chance to get, but don't know what will be a honest price to pay for it. No buttons or rings missing /the buttons seem to be aluminum? Looks lie they have some light surface white powder oxydation/. The colors are good /the flash quite spoils them on the pictures/. But one of the corners is torn, there are quite many small holes and also 2-3 bigger holes. Please see the pictures. What is a honest /not ripping me and not ripping the seller, he's a friend/ price for this Zelt? Thanks in advance!

Theo, even in the US, one in that condition, I wouldn't pay over $40 USD. They go even cheaper in Europe, I believe. A friend bought 4 serviceable ones recently off of Ebay.de for $200. That one is pretty rough. Would make for maybe a good rolled one for display.

About a year ago, I called a reenactor company and asked them if they had a scrap zelt that they could sell me in order to fix some holes in one that I had. They said they did and would send it to me for $25. So, I bought it. It arrived and actually was 5 times better than the one that I was going to repair. So, I just kept it as it and now have an extra.

Lol, cool story Recently I was at a military surplus store, explained exactly what I am looking for /cause "tent" was mentioned, so I decided a Zelt may appear from the old old reserves/, the man told me he has several bunches of these triangle tent parts... Well, the olny problem was the lack of camo Seems I found a kind of Bulgarian Zelt, no camo but just flat olive color. Maybe cool, but far too dusty to take, far too dusty even for me!

Hi Theodor, it might be worth checking out the plain zelt again, as pre war ones were made like that and coloured a plain grey

Thanks fgor the idea, Ade! I hope to be able to get back there in a month and will have a more careful look at these pieces

As we're set on a "Zelt wave", what way was the zeltbanh worn over the uniform? Which side was front, how was it fit ot the rest of equipment? Is there a scheme showing how they were putting it on, or at least good pictures of soldiers with Zelt-ponchos?

In the USA, a fair price for that is between $50-75. Having the ropes and buttons is a plus and would drive towards $75. Mint ones now are well over a $100.

I somewhat agree with Jeff regarding pricing. Zelts are in pretty big demand right now. Theo states that all buttons and rings are there, but the picture seems to show that one grommett is missing; assuming that is what he means by "rings". I'd put the value of this one at $65. A zelt with most buttons, grommets intact, but some small holes/rips at $75. Move up for fewer holes etc.
